Michael John Zytowski

July 21, 1968 – April 18, 2017

Michael John Zytowski was born in Inglewood, California, the only child of Norbert Zytowski and Suzanne Zytowski. Michael attended St. Hedwig Elementary School in Los Alamitos and St. Anthony’s High School in Long Beach, and graduated from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles with a degree in Communication Arts. He met Elise Katarina (Solomon) Zytowski the summer after his freshman year in college, at the UA Theater in Long Beach, where they both worked. After living together in Los Angeles, they returned to Long Beach and married in 1993.

Mike developed a passion for food and wine early on; from dining out in LA with friends to cooking. As a hobby, he took courses at the New School of Cooking in Culver City, eventually earning his Culinary Arts certificate. With Elise’s encouragement, he decided to follow his passion, and made a career as a Personal Chef, serving families in Southern California. Mike and Elise enjoyed many trips with friends to local wineries and craft breweries all over California.

Mike loved movies and sports, and hosted many Oscars and Super Bowl parties. He grew up a Red Wings and Tigers fan, and enjoyed watching professional sports with his sons, Evan Patrick Zytowski and Brendan Joseph Zytowski, who both continue his passion.

Michael’s life will be celebrated on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at 1:00PM at Luyben Dilday Mortuary in Long Beach, California.
