Michael James Ross Profile Photo

Mike was born in Roseville Community Hospital in California to his parents James and Annette Ross. He was the youngest of three brothers, including Kenneth Ross and Stephen Ross. Mike and his family spent his first 20 years living in Orangevale, California. In 1981 Ken married and began a family of his own. In 1984 Mike, Steve and their parents relocated to the Los Angeles area, residing in Dominguez Hills and Lakewood. Mike spent his later years in care homes in Cerritos and Bellflower, California.

Born with developmental disabilities, Mike's mission in life was less about his own learning and growth, and more about teaching the qualities of loving and caring to those around him. Despite his challenges, Mike maintained a sense of positivity, often bringing smiles to his family, his caregivers, and those with whom he associated. In his younger years he was active in school and the Boy Scouts of America. He participated in the Special Olympics for 5 straight years. At his church he served as a greeter and was much beloved by members of the congregation. Sesame Street, Star Wars and The Incredible Hulk were some of his favorite things to watch.

Mike was preceded in death by his brother Steve and his mother Annette. He is survived by his father James and his eldest brother Ken.
