Mike was born in Heidelberg, Germany on December 30th, 1960. He lived with his parents in nearby Worms, Germany, where his father was stationed with the U.S. Army. After finishing high school at Lakewood High, he worked at a nearby gas station. Later on, he worked at TRW as a machinist. His father Jack also worked there as a security officer. Whenever other security guards would run into Mike, they would say “that’s Michael, Jack’s son.” After that, many called him Michael Jackson, but Mike always said he didn’t know how to dance.
