Maxine Marion Watson

Maxine Marion Stuart was born Januay 1, 1926 in her home in Long Beach, CA. She was only the 2 nd baby born in Long Beach that year! She was the youngest of 7 children born to William and Harriet Stuart. Her father died when she was only two years old leaving her mother to raise all 7 children on her own during the great depression. Being the youngest sister of so many kids she was always around her older siblings. This is how she met her husband. Al Watson was a friend of her older brothers. They married on April 9, 1942 and she became Maxine Watson. Right away they had two babies Sharon and then Marty. Al went off to the war and Maxine lived in a converted garage at her in-laws house with the two babies. After Al came back from the war they had three more babies Craig, Bob and then Scott. Even though the family spent a little time moving around to different areas of Southern California they came back to the Long Beach area and lived in Bellflower. Maxine helped to start a Construction company with her husband and then her son Craig joined in the family business with them. Maxine worked in the office of Windsong Enterprises for 21 years. After Al passed away 24 years ago Maxine kept very busy by supporting her always growing family. She was at every sport, school and church event for her grandkids. She was at the births of grandkids and great grandkids. She was always happy to attend birthday parties and any function that her family was a part of. She enjoyed her time playing bingo, bunco and Sudoku. Maxine has 14 grandkids, 23 great grandkids, and 7 great great grandkids.
