Maureen left her home in Belfast, Northern Ireland as a war bride during WWII on the USS Marine Raven as part of a convoy back to America. She became a US Citizen some years later and lived her life as a proud American, but her Irish heritage was not forgotten. Many of her 11 siblings followed and came to America where there were many Irish parties hosted by Maureen and her husband Stan. She has been a resident of Los Alamitos since 1970 where she taught numerous little ones to swim and pool safety. A great intellect, bridge player, traveler, counselor to family and friends and a great patriot was Maureen. She is survived by her children Dianne Henry, Dan, Jerry, Tom, Steve and Erin Pohl as well as 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren as well as two sisters and three brothers. She was a wonderful “lady” in all senses of the word, and our lives will never truly be the same for her having touched our minds and our hearts.
