Mary Louise Swanson

We lost Mary Louise Swanson on October 28, 2021, in Apple Valley, California. We also lost a Mother, Grandmother, a Sister, and an overall amazing individual. Mom was preceded in death by her daughter, Cathy Garibay O’Brien, and her husband, Rodger E. Swanson. She is survived by her daughter & granddaughter, Mimi and Savannah Lee Simmons, her son, wife and young adult grandkids, Robert and Rose Garibay, Daniel Garibay, Heather Garibay Burdette, and Sean Garibay, who each have partners and their children. Trevor O’Brien, Jake, Brooke, and Dani O’Brien are survived also by Cathy Garibay O’Brien. Joan Frances Garibay recently passed after Mom. She has family in Kansas also.

Mom was a faithful Christian, a dedicated Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was a beautiful person inside and out. After Joan’s car accident in April of 1982, she dedicated her life to taking care of Joan. Prior to that she had different occupations, but mostly worked at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach.

Mom loved to read, work outside in the yard, and loved to cook. If you knew her, I am certain you had her famous tacos at one time or another! She was funny, and always in support of whomever needed it.

To know Mary, Mom, Grandma ~ was to love her ~ she will never be forgotten and I know she is watching over us all ~
