Mary Louise Nix

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Mary Louise Nix, age 92, at her home in San Jacinto, CA, formally of Hawaiian Gardens, CA, on January 11, 2025.

Mary was born on August 14, 1932 in Greensburg, PA as the middle child of three girls to James and Margaret Bierer (nee Pershing).

Mom was preceded in death by her husband Paul, sisters Marilyn and Demaris, and granddaughter Shannon.

She is survived by two sons, Anthony (Tony) and Alan and grandsons Robert and Aryan.

Mom attended Bishop Conaty Catholic High School in LA graduating in 1950.

She met Paul at the Hollywood USO and married him on July 6, 1957.

Mary worked at Federal-Mogul in Downey as an O-Ring line inspector and as a "lunch lady" supervisor at the ABC School District in Artesia.

She lived in Hawaiian Gardens for many years.  After Paul passed, she lived at the Cypress Pointe Senior Apartments in Cypress, CA and for the last five years, was cared for by Alan, Aryan and his wife Kalie in San Jacinto, CA.

Mary worshipped and fellowshipped at St Peter Chanel Catholic Church in Hawaiian Gardens for many years.

Mom loved a good walk and a full and flowering bed of roses. She was a devoted daughter and sister and missed having her parents and sisters in her life.

Her Family, Faith and Community gave her the strength and vision to live a blessed life.

She will be missed by all but her memory will live on through all of us that she uplifted and supported throughout her long life.

Rest in peace Mom and enjoy your walks with Jesus among the roses.
