Mary "Betty" Cole

Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Cole, age 95 of Lakewood, CA passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016. She was born to the late Charles and Mary Casey Sheehy on October 27, 1920 in Santa Rosa, CA.  Betty grew up in Petaluma, CA and graduated from St. Vincent Academy.

In 1944 Betty married Max W Cole. They had two children, a son and daughter and moved from Petaluma to Southern California in 1952.  The family moved to Betty’s current home in Lakewood in 1955.

Betty was a stay-at-home Mom who loved sewing, creative needlework and served as a school volunteer for many years. She was a very active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 496 serving three terms as President.

Betty is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Al Erdmann. and also her son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Jan Cole. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her.

Services are to be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 16 at 10 am. There will be a private interment at Riverside National Cemetery.
