Mary Anne Brady

Brady, Mary A. - 6-15-1926 to 2-8-2017 Anne Brady passed away peacefully in her home on February 8, 2017, at 90 years old.  Anne was born in Louisville, Kentucky to Anthony and Dorothy Harig.  She was raised by her grandmother after her parents early death.  After her graduation from high school in Louisville, she attended St. Joseph Infirmary in Indiana and received her RN degree in 1947.  She then accepted a nursing position at the VA hospital in Encino, California and met her future husband, a handsome navy veteran, Thomas B. Brady.  They were married in 1950 and moved to Long Beach in 1952.  They purchased a newly built home where she lived until her passing.  Anne was a woman of many passions; avid reader, sports fanatic (especially college basketball), current events, Sudoku and the Times crossword puzzle.  She will always be remembered for her crochet afghans and her needle point creations.  Being a most generous person she would spend hours crocheting afghans and creating needle point pictures which she would gift to her special friends and family.  Her 70 plus afghans will warm infants, parents and grandparents for many years to come.  She will be missed by all who knew her.  Anne is survived by four children:  Patrick, Cathleen, Christopher and Matthew and five grandchildren.  No funeral services will be held.Luyben Dilday Mortuary (562) 425-6401
