Mark Abeyta

On Monday, November 14, 2022, Mark Abeyta, father, brother, godfather, uncle, friend, and colleague passed away in the ICU at Long Beach Memorial Hospital, surrounded by the love of his children at the age of 59 years. He was receiving chemotherapy for esophageal cancer when he suddenly contracted sepsis and went into cardiac arrest. Mark will be lovingly remembered by his two daughters, Bailey and Brenna, his brothers, Don & Ted, and his sisters, Marcia, Donna, Mattie, & Gloria. He is predeceased by his parents, Regina and Teodoro Abeyta, and his uncle, Don Abeyta.

Mark was born on February 24, 1963, in Lynwood, California. He was raised in Lakewood, California with his six other brothers and sisters. He attended and graduated from both St. Pancratius and Pius X. He also attended Long Beach City College and Cal State Dominguez. Mark was a Buyer at Boeing for over 25 years and was a dear colleague to many. He loved music. He loved sports and he played them throughout his life, especially baseball and golf. Mark loved talking and connecting with people. He had a tremendous number of friends with whom he stayed in contact with throughout his life. Mark loved his family and was always there for every big moment. Mark was a devoted father to his two daughters and loved spending time with them. He will be dearly missed.

A Rosary will be held at Luyben Family Mortuary in Long Beach on December 9th at 7:00 PM and Funeral at St. Pancratius Catholic Church in Lakewood on December 10th at 10:00 AM
