Marilyn J. Hansen

Marilyn J. Hansen, age 88, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 4, 2017 in Cerritos, CA.
Marilyn was born December 15, 1928 in Racine Wisconsin to Raymond and Mae Sterr, the youngest and only girl of three children. She moved to Los Angeles with her family when she was four years old.  Marilyn grew up in Los Angeles, and graduated from Dorsey High School.  After graduating she was hired by the Telephone Company where she worked for several years.

She met the love of her life, Robert Hansen, through mutual friends and they were married in November 1949. Over the years their family of two grew to be a family of twenty-six.  Marilyn was a very loving and devoted wife, mom, grandma, and great-grandma. She was very involved with volunteering, whether it be as a Boy Scout Leader, Girl Scout Leader, Blue Bird Leader, White Caps Leader or Little League Mom, she was always there for her family.  She also took pride in being part of the Alter Society at St. Cyprian and San Gorgonio Catholic Churches.

Marilyn was a wonderful homemaker but also enjoyed working part-time occasionally while raising her children, she eventually went back to work full-time until she retired in 1989. Marilyn and Bob loved to travel the world and enjoyed camping across the United States and visiting family in Ohio and Wisconsin.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Robert, her eldest son, Robert, and grandson Michael. She is survived by her three remaining children, Kathleen (Kenneth) Banks, James Hansen, and Donna Mae (Douglas) Sheibe, 8 grandchildren, 5 grandchild-in-law, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
