Marilyn Louise Backen

Marilyn Louise Backen was born March 28, 1936 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Roy and Irene Jones. Marilyn was Baptized September 20, 1936 and Confirmed into the Lutheran Church, June 5, 1949. Marilyn married the love of her life, Elmer Raymond Backen on May 28, 1954 in Mason City, Iowa.
Marilyn and Elmer moved from Minnesota to California in 1956. They had two daughters, Connie and Sheri. Marilyn also had two stepsons Roger and Dennis. Marilyn and Elmer worked together in their auto repair shop, Elmer's Garage, for many years first in Lynwood and then in Bellflower. They retired in 1992. Marilyn loved her family and was always very willing to watch the grandkids and great-grandkids. She made many beautiful crochet doilies and baked many chocolate chip cookies that everyone loved.
Marilyn is survived by daughters Connie and Sheri. Grandchildren: Natalie, Michele, Gerrit, Dennis, Candace, Vanessa and Lindsay. Great-grandchildren: Dylan, Grace, Scott, Joshua, Tyler, Madison, Nathan, Lily, Lucas, Liv and Raylin. Siblings: Virginia, John and Linda.
Marilyn was preceded in death by: Husband: Elmer; Stepsons: Dennis and Roger. Grandson: Ray; Mother: Irene; Father: Roy; Siblings: Willard, Betty and Diane.
