Maria Teresa Romero

Maria Teresa Romero, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on May 19, 1941, and lived a life devoted to faith, family, kindness, and unconditional love.

Maria Teresa shared 63 beautiful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Miguel Romero, building a strong and loving family together.Their marriage was a testament to loyalty, commitment, and enduring love.

She was the proud and loving mother of seven children: Maria Covarrubias, Carmen Ecker, Michael Romero, Rosie Jarvis, Angelica Guillen, Leticia Arroyo, and Isabel Calleros, whom she raised with endless care, strength, wisdom, and compassion. Maria Teresa also cherished her son in laws, and daughter in law. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, guidance, and the comfort only a mother can give. She dedicated her life to her family and found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved.

An expert gardener with a special gift for nurturing life, Maria Teresa loved all plants and flowers. Her gardens reflected her patience, dedication, and appreciation for God’s creation. She found great joy and peace in tending to her plants, and her beautiful gardens were a source of pride and inspiration to all who knew her.

Maria Teresa was also a cherished grandmother to 25 grandchildren and was joyfully awaiting the arrival of her 11th great-grandchild. Nothing brought her more happiness than being surrounded by her growing family, whose lives were deeply touched by her love, prayers, and guidance.

Funeral services and a celebration of life will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, at St. Maria Goretti Church: 3954 Palo Verde Ave. Long Beach. Rosary: 10:30 am, Mass: 11:00 am. Following immediately after: All Souls Cemetery and Mausoleum 4400 Cherry Ave. Long Beach.
