Marguerite Marie Friess

Our dear mother, Marguerite M. Friess, left this world on April 16, 2023 at the age of 95. She will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in the hearts of all of us who really cared for and loved her. Her ashes will be interred along with those of our beloved father, George W. Friess, at March Airforce Base, Riverside Cemetery.

George and ‘Margie’ were born and raised in Oil City, PA where they met and married. Later, when George left the U.S. Airforce, together they moved to CA where George could be involved in the manufacturing of airplanes as a draftsman at Douglas Aircraft. They brought with them Margie’s mother, Mrs. Marguerite P. King, and their daughter, Sherrie. Margie went to college in CA and obtained her accounting degree; both she and George were successful in their careers. They bought their first home in Lakewood, CA where they raised a total of 5 children. They loved to sing and were members for many years of Barber Shoppers and Sweet Adelines, respectively.

“Margie” Marguerite is survived by 4 children, 4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.

Mom was a member of Arbor Road Church, she followed her heart in all things and left behind many good memories. May she rest peacefully in the arms of Jesus until we see her again.

Memorial Services will be private, the date not yet determined.
