Margarita Maria Rodgers

On December 29, 2020, our Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, Auntie and Great Auntie was peacefully lifted to heaven from her home with her family by her side. Born in Manhattan Beach, California to Petra Higuera and Bernardo Melgoza. She was one of eleven children and raised in Redondo Beach among multitudes of family and extended family. She was a mother to three children, Christina Loeliger, Richard Busconi, and Barbara Hartel. Margarita lived her entire life in the South Bay and was a long-time employee of Xerox where she met her husband Charles Rodgers. They married in 1985 settling in Lakewood. Charles preceded her in death in 2014. Margarita was very active in the Lakewood senior community. Our mom was always the most fun-loving person . She loved music and dancing,belly dancing with the senior center was her last love. She leaves behind ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren and a multitude of friends. Our mother is a Beautiful soul and will be greatly missed.  While we cannot gather to celebrate her life at this time, we can all post our thoughts on the Luyben-Dilday website. A service will be announced once it is safe to gather again.
