Marge Vienna, formerly Marge Porter, maiden name Montgomery, died Sunday, February 8, 2015, at her home in Leisure World, Seal Beach California of complications from COPD at the age of 87. She leaves behind her husband of ten years, Duane Vienna; four daughters Kathleen Kent, Joanne McNabb, Mary Ellen Wilson and Barbara Mason; eight grandchildren Christopher Kent, Jennifer Kent, Scott Wilson, Sharon Wilson, Melissa Wilson, Joseph Wilson, Christine Soltau, Kyle Mason and Daniel Soltau; eight great-grand children Kincey Wilson, Destiny Wilson, Elijah Wilson, Matthew Quintero, Sophia Quintero, Samantha Quintero, Margaret Kent and Michael Kent; stepchildren Pat Vienna and John Vienna and step-grandson Alex Vienna.

Marge was widowed from Joseph E. Porter, her devoted husband of 47 years in 1995. After years of grief at the loss of her beloved husband, she was thrilled to fall in love a second time when she married a loving man, Duane in 2004.

Marge was born in Troy, NY in 1927 to parents Mary and Albert Montgomery. She and Joe moved to Southern California from Troy NY with their daughters in 1959. In addition to spending time with her adoring family, Marge had many valued friendships from square dancing, ball room dancing, playing bridge and her tenure as a school secretary in the Long Beach Unified School District. An active member of the Leisure World community, she served in a number of offices including President of the Leisure World Golden Age Foundation. She provided years of service to Holy Family Church, including as Treasurer of the Inter-Faith Church Council, coordinator of Lecters for 29 years and arranger of altar flowers for 29 years. Her family and friends will remember her fondness her playful sense of humor, her storytelling, her kindness, her deep faith and her love of life.

Services will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church Friday, February 13 at 10 AM, followed by a burial at All Souls Cemetery in Long Beach and reception at the Leisure World clubhouse 4A at 1:00. Visitation is on Thursday, February 12th from 4-8 pm, with Rosary at 7pm at Luyben Dilday Mortuary on Arbor Road in Long Beach.
