Lynn Gordon Hagman was born on May 15, 1922 to Robert Lea Hagman and Henrietta Amelia Strasburg, and passed away peacefully on November 3, 2017 with his family by his side. Lynn was born in a small farming community in Rockham, South Dakota and moved with his family to Long Beach, CA in 1931. Lynn attended Burnett Elementary, Hamilton Jr. High, Long Beach Poly (Class of 1940) and Long Beach Jr. College. He met the love of his life, Betty June Lucas, through his sister Shirley. They were married on March 18, 1950 and had celebrated their 67th anniversary this year. They were an incredibly devoted couple who filled their home with much love, joy and laughter. Lynn served in the Army as an Infantry Officer in both World War II and the Korean War. Lynn was a talented finish carpenter by trade. He was a Construction Superintendent for many large building projects including schools, churches, hospitals and banks. He retired in 1985. Lynn lived his life as a devout Christian, always thinking of others and was always there with a helping hand. He was always positive, grateful, had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. Lynn was a big sports fan and loved his Dodgers and USC. He enjoyed working on projects for his family and friends, traveling, camping and fishing with his family. Most importantly Lynn enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, relatives and friends. Lynn was a selfless and loving man who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Lynn is survived by his wife Betty; his loving children, Craig Hagman (Janet Rasmussen), Janet Hagman Rome (Jim); his 6 grandchildren, Jason (Jenn) and Jeremy (Rebekah) Hagman, Zachary and Alexis Hagman, Jake and Logan Rome; and 3 great-grandchildren, Abigail, Jeffrey and Anthony Hagman. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Jeffrey Lynn, his brothers, Robert and Dean, and his sister, Shirley Mason. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 17th at 11:00am at Los Altos United Methodist Church at 5950 East Willow Street, Long Beach, CA  90815. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to: Los Altos United Methodist Church, 5950 East Willow Street, Long Beach, CA  90815 or to The Assistance League of Long Beach, 6220 East Spring Street, Long Beach, CA  90815. A reception will be held immediately following the service at The Modern, 2801 E. Spring St., Long Beach.
