?Lois Robillard-Amendola passed away peacefully on March 10, 2016 in Riverside, California, at the age of 95 years. She was born on November 16, 1920 in North Dakota. Her extended family drove to California in Model A’s in 1926, settling in Compton, CA. As a Registered Nurse in the Army (2nd Lt.) during WWII, Lois met her husband Louis at an Officer’s Club dance in Seattle. Together they had seven children: the first three were born in Arlington, MA.  After settling in Lakewood, CA., the couple had four more children.  Lois and Lou were founding members of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Long Beach where all their children went to school. They enjoyed almost sixty years of marriage. Lois went back into nursing in the mid 60’s and retired (1985) as a Nursing Administrator at Kaiser Hospital Bellflower. After moving to Anaheim in 1980 Lois and Lou joined St. Justin Martyr's Catholic Church.  Lois was active in the YMCA Women’s Auxiliary. She loved to travel with Lou in this country and abroad always plotting out the itineraries very carefully. Lois was preceded in death by her husband Louis (1999), sons Daniel and James and her sister, Helen Miller. While Lois lived at Emerald Court (2009-2013), she met and fell in love with Greg Amendola. They were married at the ripe age of 88 and 90! Lois and Greg were blessed with 1 ½ years as a very happy, loving husband and wife before Greg’s passing. Lois spent the last three years of her life at Riverside Pacifica Senior Living, a memory care center, centrally located to family who could visit often. Our family is most grateful to the staff of Cottage 4 for their love and superb care of our Mom. She is survived by her daughter Helen (and partner Sandra Graves), sons Paul, Kenn, David, Larry (and wife Christi), four grandchildren (Jennifer, John, Dani, Steven, and his wife Lexi), one honorary grandchild (Vito), and two great grandchildren (Brant, Davin). “Mom, thank you! Thank you for a life well lived. Your loving and faithful service to your husbands in health and sickness. And to all of your children; seeing two of them pass before you at such a young age…All of your girlfriends at the “Y” who adore you…Your lifelong friends from Church…Your abiding faith. We love you always, and until we meet again…” Services at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church at 10 am on Saturday, March 19, 2016. Private graveside services will be held. Reception/lunch immediately following at David Robillard’s home in Lakewood. All are invited.
