Lionello “ Leo” Schiavoni

Of Lakewood, formerly of Girard, Ohio, passed away November 1, 2017 surrounded by his family. Leo’s wife, Crosetta (Andreoni) Schiavoni deceased 2011.  Leo is survived by daughter Karen (Fred) Land;  Son,  Anthony (Suzanne) Schiavoni;  5 grandchildren, Paul Schiavoni, Andrea (Matt) Cammann, Kristen Schiavoni, Rebecca (Matt) Smith, Robyn (Brian) Raney; 3 great-grandchildren, Maddox Schiavoni-Ekberg, Daniel Raney, Cora Schiavoni Cammann; Sister Diva Higby and many nieces, nephews and extended cousins who love him.

After serving in the Navy during WWII, Leo married Crosetta in Hershey, PA and soon after traveled west to Long Beach, CA where he began a career at Douglas Aircraft and the growth of his family.

Leo was active in his church and community. Campaigning for city and country, he supported labor unions for the growth of the working man and the development of the Sons of Italy, Lakewood Lodge.  He was very proud of his Italian heritage and never stopped supporting it through support of the lodges and family life.

Services handled through Luyben Dilday Mortuary. Visitation: Thursday, November 16th, 4pm to 8pm, (6:30pm rosary) at Luyben Dilday Chapel.  Funeral Mass begins at 10am. St. Pancratius Catholic Church, interment to follow at All Souls Cemetery. Reception location: SkyLinks Golf Course 4800 E Wardlow Rd, Long Beach.  The family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital https://www.stjude.org/ or your favorite charity.
