Her Story
Linda Lee Smith passed away on July 29, 2026, at the age of 84. She was born on December 7, 1941, in Los Angeles, California, to Jack Walter Nelson and Doris Louise (Seim) Nelson, and grew up in Southern California, spending her early years in Fontana and Alhambra.
Linda married three times over the course of her life, each marriage bringing a son into the family. On February 23, 1958, she married Roy Riddell Hurst, and they welcomed a son, Roy Riddell Hurst Jr. On January 4, 1964, she married Dynacious Daniel Leslie “Red” Landrum, and they had a son, Daniel Leslie Landrum Jr. Then, on December 31, 1969, she married Harold O. Smith in Hamblen, Tennessee, and together they had a son, Sean Christian Smith.
Linda and Harold made their home in the Tucson, Arizona area, first in South Tucson and later in Corona de Tucson, where they remained until Harold's passing in 1991. During her years in Corona de Tucson, Linda was very active with the American Legion. In her later years, she returned to Southern California and lived in Seal Beach.
