Linda Mae Hodnett

Linda Mae Hodnett passed away peacefully on November 5, 2014 after a 2-year long battle with brain cancer.
Linda was born on September 24, 1947 in Los Angeles, CA to Ellis and Barbara Holdren. She was raised in Compton, CA and was a graduate of Dominguez High School in 1965.
Linda was a funny, compassionate, loyal and inspirational woman. She spent most of her adult years residing in Lakewood, CA. Up until the time of her cancer diagnosis, she was an employee of the City of Paramount where she was extremely loved by all of her coworkers. Throughout Linda's cancer journey she inspired many with her ability to defy the odds and remain optimistic in even the most dire of circumstances. She had the ability to make friends with everyone she met. Anyone who met Linda instantly fell in love with her generosity and her caring nature. She was the woman that everyone went to for advice, a quick therapy session or just a loving hug.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt and friend. The loss of this amazing woman will have a great affect on those that loved her. She truly was the glue that held everyone together.
Linda is preceded in death by her father, Ellis Holdren in 1990. She is survived by her mother, Barbara Holdren; siblings, Susan Wright, Ellis Holdren and Cheryle Miner; husband, Robert Hodnett; children, David Pride (Keira), Rebecca Pride (Jim Pride), Jonathan Hodnett and Rachael Hodnett; grandsons, Brandon, Aaron and Ellis Pride; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on November 18th from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at Luyben Family Dilday-Mottell Mortuary (5161 Arbor Rd. Long Beach, CA 90808). The first hour will be for family only. Funeral services will be held on November 19th at 10:00am at St. Cyprian Church (4714 Clark Ave, Long Beach, CA 90808) with a private burial to follow at Riverside National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Linda's honor, to the National Brain Tumor Society.
