Lillian Jean Athons

Our sweet Aunt Lil (Lillian Jean Flower Athons) passed away at the age of 90 on April 2 ^nd , 2022. She was survived by her nieces Donna Flower-Hill, Patty, Hannah and Abigail Loessberg, nephew Spencer Loessberg and nephew in-laws Bob Hill and Don Loessberg.

Lillian was preceded in death by her sons James and Daniel Athons, her parents Michael and Lena Flower and her brother Ronald Flower.

Lillian was second generation Italian-American born and raised in Signal Hill, graduating from Long Beach Polytechnic High School and attended Long Beach City College. She settled in Cerritos with her family until her death. Lillian worked for Northrop for many years as well as the ABC school district. She had a love of the piano and in fact taught piano for many years. She also enjoyed the performing arts and really loved shopping (not quite buying but just the sheer shopping experience.) She had a love for the movies, was a fine dresser and had a was a devout Catholic. She was known for her pleasant smile, kind and gentle spirit.

We will miss our matriarch, Aunt Lil.
