Lawrence Robert Foley, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, peacefully passed away on July 9, 2025 at the age of 88 years old.

Larry Foley was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts on May 18, 1937. His parents, Frank and Ella Foley, raised Larry and his brother Tom, in the town of Manchester-by-the-Sea, where he enjoyed fishing and being a golf caddy.

In 1952, the family moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Larry attended North Phoenix High School and Arizona State University. While in Arizona he enjoyed fishing in the mountains and weekends at the family cabin in Apache Junction. While he was at ASU he met Marcia Swope who was from Long Beach. After Larry graduated from college he moved to California and became a schoolteacher. At this time, he began dating Marcia and they were married on February 11, 1961.

Larry and Marcia had three children, Stephen, Edward and Lisa. The family lived in Long Beach and Larry had fun coaching his sons’ Pop Warner Football team for many years and going to his kids’ sporting activities. Larry also loved the outdoors and was fond of fishing, camping and going on trips with his family. Larry left teaching in San Fernando and worked at Standard Oil Company from 1963-1995.

In later years, Larry and Marcia did a lot of traveling on cruises with their friends and visiting their daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in various states around the US. Larry also took up golfing and gardening, which he spent many happy hours doing in his spare time.

Larry had a wonderful life and was loved by his wife, Marcia, his three children, two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
