Keith Francis Hunt passed away surrounded by his devoted wife and loving sons on July 6, 2026, at the age of 64.

Born on November 28, 1961, in Lakewood, California, Keith was raised in Long Beach. He was a proud Long Beach native and carried his love for the city into every stage of his life. He was the fourth of six children born to Mary Anne Hunt (Pyka). The values of faith, family, and service instilled by his mother remained central to his life and were strengthened through the loving partnership he shared with his wife, Loretta.

Keith married the love of his life, Loretta Santos, on April 17, 1982. Together, they shared 44 years of marriage built on faith, love, laughter, friendship, and devotion to family.

Keith and Loretta met while working at Vons. Keith worked for the company for several years while earning his Bachelor's degree and later his Master's degree from California State University, Long Beach. During this time, he started his career as a teacher. He devoted more than 30 years to education, inspiring countless students and building relationships with colleagues that often grew into lasting friendships. Much of his educational career was spent in the Centralia School District, where he dedicated more than 15 years of service to G.B. Miller Elementary School in La Palma, California.

Keith is survived by his loving wife, Loretta; his sons, Brian (Samantha) and Tyler (Kattie); and his cherished grandchildren, Brigid, Thomas, Mason, Tessa, Blake, and Bodhi. Keith's greatest joys were spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren grow.

Keith will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, dedication to his students, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched as a husband, father, grandfather ("Pop Pop"), teacher, colleague, and friend.

Funeral services will be held at St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Long Beach, California, on Thursday, July 30, 2026. A Rosary will be held at 10:30 A.M. for those wishing to pray with the family prior to the Funeral Mass. The Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 A.M. Family and friends planning to attend only the Mass are encouraged to arrive by 10:45 A.M.
