Kathleen "Kathy" Wachter

Kathleen (Kathy) Wachter went home to be with the Lord on June 10, 2026 at the age of 95. She is survived by her eight children, Katie, Erin, Dan, Kevin, Michelle, Shannon, Shawn, and Chad, as well as by her 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Born as the fourth child of Albert and Agnes Susanka, she was raised in Washington alongside her three siblings, Albert (Abby), Luwanna (LuLu), and Shirley (Cho Cho), before moving to California and attending St. Anthony’s High School in Long Beach.

Through the Antonians Catholic Youth Group at St. Anthony’s church, Kathy met her husband Charles (Chuck), and the two were wed on January 3, 1953. Kathy and Chuck were founding parishioners of St. Maria Goretti since its inception in 1957 and remained active in church and school affairs for their entire lives. Over the years, they were blessed with eight wonderful children who all attended St. Maria Goretti school and went to high school at St. Joseph’s and St. John Bosco. Kathy and Chuck were selfless, generous, and gracious servers, present at every school and sports event and frequently donating to support other families and their local community. Kathy was also devoted to protecting life and was heavily involved in the activities of the Right to Life League and the Precious Life Shelter. She made an impact everywhere she went and will be missed dearly by many.
