June C. Meigs, beloved Grandmother, Mother, Wife and Friend passed away surrounded by her family at home on November 29th, 2017.  She was 84.Born in Ferndale, Michigan she moved to California in the mid 1950’s to pursue work with AT&T as a long-distance telephone operator.  Active for many years in masonic social organizations such as the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, she served as High Priestess in 2010, Queen of Daughters of the Nile, and was President of the Social Order of the Beauceant three times as well as being a 50-year member.  Mrs. Meigs was also a member of the Eastern Star and Order of the Amaranth.  She enjoyed travel to various locations with these organizations over many years.A cheerful and calming spirit with abundant inner strength and a “hang loose” attitude embraced on a visit to Hawaii, she enjoyed Barry Manilow and Elvis, collecting, flamingos, baseball and hockey, Turner Classic movies, Dancing with the Stars, entering sweepstakes, the Hallmark channel, and drawing.For several years she worked as a volunteer in Long Beach Memorial Hospital’s Patient Library and Shriners Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.She enjoyed spending quiet time with animals, decorating for any holiday, and working on  games and puzzles with her granddaughter.Mrs. Meigs is survived by her husband Arthur C.
