Judy Lynn Anderson Profile Photo

Judy Lynn Anderson (née Rauls) died unexpectedly in her home on January 16 in Long Beach, CA at the age of 66.

Judy is survived by her adoring husband Mike, daughters, Kim and Danni, of Long Beach, and grandchildren, Joe, Penny, Jackson, and Charlotte; brother, Jerry Rauls of Arizona. She is preceded in death by her father, Elmer and mother Phyllis of Arizona.

Judy was born in May 1954 in Los Angeles. to Elmer and Phyllis Rauls. She married Mike, her soulmate, in 1977. After traveling the country, Judy returned to work at Flying Tigers. She would remain in the aviation cargo industry for the rest of her life. She worked hard to reach upper-level position, and truly enjoyed her work. After a long career filled with travel, she was grateful to be working at home with her retired husband and young grandchildren close-by.

Her daughter’s friend once described Judy as a giant sunflower. She would bring warmth and joy to the room when she walked in, and her laughter remained long after she left. She loved her family and devoted her life to them. First to her husband, then her girls, then her sons-in-law, and when her grandchildren started to arrive, she became a devoted grandma.

She loved to travel, explore new places, meet new people, make new friends. She could talk to anyone, anywhere, about anything. She would walk away knowing their everything about them, their mother’s maiden name, blood type, and a discount. While it made her family, who lacked her personable qualities uncomfortable, she was able to connect to people everywhere she went. She was exactly what this world needs, connection.

She was a lover of beauty, of life, of hope in the future.
