Judith L. Papenhausen1941 -2018It is with deep sorrow that we tell you Dr. Judith Lynne Papenhausen passed away Monday January 19, just 4 days after her 77th birthday, a day filled with love and many surprises. Judy could not stop expressing her thrill throughout her celebrations and happiness over the magic of the day.As a teacher of nursing and a community leader in her field, she is remembered by her colleagues as “a brilliant leader with vision, guiding two schools of nursing to excellence,” “a brilliant tough loving nurse leader who has left her legacy in nursing academia,” “a nurse hero,” and “a leader who was filled with wit and wisdom while working on many initiatives in the nursing community,” to quote just a few. Judy’s passion was advancing the art and science of nursing through a dynamic, in-depth educational process. Her career spanned 42 years and she loved it all.Judy’s Life Celebration will be held on Saturday, February 17th at 11:00 AM in the Pacific Ballroom at The Reef restaurant, 880 South Harbor Scenic Drive, Long Beach, 90802. Directions can be found at http://www.reefrestaurant.com. Lunch will be served and all who knew Judy are welcome and invited to join us. She would have liked everyone to come in relaxed attire, so please dress comfortably and casually.
