It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. On January 5th she peacefully left this earth, at home surrounded by love. Born October 21, 1946, in Bismark, North Dakota, she grew up in a military family moving from state to state until finally landing in California to build her life. Married to Dennis Holland in 1967, they had two children: Alexis and Chad Holland. Later in life she married Teddy Oliver Grote in 1982, which brought her the addition of two stepchildren: Deborah Luther and Kenneth Grote. In the seventies she began a career with IBM as a mainframe consultant. After 19 years she took the philanthropic route and became the Director of the Hotline of Southern California where she did crisis intervention, financial and housing referral, Alzheimer care and provided comfort and support during challenging times. In addition, she was also on the Executive Board for Soroptimist International of Cypress and St Isidore Historical Plaza. She devoted most of her life to helping others. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She had a great passion for all things nature: birds, rain, the moon, the sea, the sun. She loved music, reading, movies and good food. She loved her family, her friends, her dogs and never wanted to miss a good party. She will forever be missed, deeply loved and adored.
