Judith Ann Klenk was born March 14, 1939, in Los Angeles, California. She passed away in her home in Long Beach, California, on May 22, 2018. She was initially diagnosed with breast cancer in 1974, but after years of remission, it re-emerged in 2002.

She led a full and blessed life. She got her degree in Sociology from Immaculate Heart College in Hollywood; while attending school she was introduced to a Cal Tech grad student named William Klenk. They hit it off and were married in September, 1960. Their first trip together was their honeymoon; from 1960 to 2018 they took over 300 trips together, ranging from weekenders in Orange County to Midwestern road trips to month-long excursions in Europe and China.

She obtained her teaching credential from CSU Long Beach and worked in the media center at Oak Middle School and Hopkinson Elementary School in Los Alamitos. She was an active member of St. Cornelius Church, an avid reader and world-famous for sending friends and family cards for birthdays and anniversaries. The children always looked forward to getting stickers with their cards.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Viola Palmersheim. In addition To her husband, she is survived by her sister, Audrey Dalton; her three children, Sharon Braswell (Tim), Eileen Deluca (Mark), and David Klenk (Lara); and her five grandchildren (Christina, Lauren, Joseph, Matthew, Sean).

The funeral mass will be Thursday, May 31, 2018, 10am at St. Cornelius Catholic Church. Interment will follow at All Souls Catholic Cemetery.
