Juan De Cordova
March 24, 1931 — November 18, 2018
Juan de Cordova, 87, passed away Sunday November 18th 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Perfecto and Antonia Cordova and his wife of 41 years Marilyn Crelly de Cordova. He was born in Belen New Mexico March 24th 1931, moved to the Long Beach California area in the early 1950s where he lived until the spring of 2010 at which time he moved to the Chattanooga Tennessee area to live with his son Ricardo de Cordova, daughter-in-law Lori and grandchildren Diego and Lily. He is also survived by his sister Precilla Cordova, her children Nancy Lev, Joe Cordova , Rose Stevens, Kathy Bodewig and numerous nieces and nephews.
Juan had a distinguished career as a school teacher, vice principal and principal with Long Beach Unified School District. He was also elected to the board of ABC Unified School District where he served as president for two terms.
Juan was also successful in business as the owner of de Cordova and Son Horse Ranch in Cerritos as well as Lakewood Stables in Lakewood California.
Funeral services will be held Saturday December 15th at 10:30 AM at St Cyprian Catholic Church in Long Beach California.
