John Michael Russell

John Michael Russell was born on May 12, 1955 at St. Mary's Hospital in Long Beach, Ca. to James Reid Russell, Jr. and (Barbara) Anne Russell. He was the first grandchild of James Reid and Laura Russell and George and Margaret O'Hara.  John grew up in Long Beach and attended St. Cornelius elementary school and St. Anthony High School graduating in 1973. He was an avid baseball player and water skier. He married Diane Winters in January of 1985 and became a wonderful father to Hally and Heather Winters whom he raised through their teenage years in Orange County.  In 1992 the family relocated to Bishop.  In August of 1997 John married Vicki (Victoria Kellerman) Bowman and became a loving father to her twin daughters, Stephanie and Michelle.  John adored his grandchildren. He had a giving heart and was always eager to help anyone in need.  He loved to socialize and never forgot a friend.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.  He had a varied work career and was employed by High Sierra Distributing for the last ten years.
John is survived by his wife, Vicki; his mother, Anne; his brothers, Bob, Jim (Maureen),and Bill (Trisha); his sister, Carol (Ed) Rushman; daughters, Hally Saldana, Heather Eve Winters, Stephanie Bowman,and Michele (Chris) Kibler;  Aunt Mary and Uncle Jack Grobaty; Uncle Hank O'Hara; Aunt Denise Forgeron; Uncle Don (Jean) Russell; thirteen cousins; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; fifteen nieces and nephews; nine grandnieces and nephews; and twenty-nine second cousins.
