John Anthony Miller Profile Photo

In the early morning of April 27, our father, John Anthony Miller passed of natural causes at his home in Long Beach, California. He was 90 years old. A native of Canton, Ohio, John proudly served the city of Long Beach as a member of the Fire Department for 30 years, 12 of which he was a Captain. He follows his beloved wife of 60 years, Novelle, into the loving arms of his Savior. He leaves a legacy of faithful service to his country as well, having served in the army during Korean War and being honorably discharged. John was a tough “old-school” man who had a strong work ethnic, an incredible sense of humor and appreciated the brotherhood of camaraderie. He was a avid golfer was known around town as one of the best in his hey day. Dad will be remembered for his commitment to providing for his family and in his later years, through a deepening relationship with God, softening into a tender-hearted father and friend. He will be greatly missed. John is survived by his son, John Anthony, Jr., and daughters Susan Ambrose and Mary Madeline Miller along with three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
