John (Jack) Cheatham was born on July 26, 1933 in Long Beach, California to Ernest and Orissa Cheatham. He was raised in Long Beach, along with his brother Ernie, and sisters, Patty and Jayne. He attended St. Anthony’s High School in Long Beach, where he not only met his wife, Raylene (Laughlin), but also made lifelong friends that he continued to see throughout the years enjoying class reunions and many get togethers and celebrations. Jack attended Loyola University in Los Angeles for 2 years before transferring and graduating from the University of Santa Clara.

Jack & Raylene married in 1955 and shortly after, Jack served in the US Army for 2 years at Fort Lewis in Washington.

Jack and Raylene moved back to California and made their home in Garden Grove where they raised their 4 children.

Jack worked for 35 plus years in the Aerospace Industry and was very involved in the space shuttle missions.

While in retirement, Jack enjoyed traveling, golf, spending time with family and friends and taking care of his 2 dogs.

Jack is survived by his son John (Mary) Cheatham, daughters Susan (Bob) Zaniboni and Tammy (Don) Naslund, 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and many nieces and nephews. His daughter, Julie Phillips, predeceases him.

He will be missed by all and we are grateful for the memories we have of him.
