November 12, 1955 – October 29, 2018
Jeffrey Gray passed away on October 29, 2018, at the age of 62.
Born in Inglewood, California, Jeff was a longtime resident of Long Beach. He attended California State University Long Beach, graduating with bachelor of science degrees in medical microbiology (cum laude, 1978) and quality assurance (summa cum laude, 1986). Jeff began a lifelong career in quality engineering working on the space shuttle program at Rockwell International in Downey. Later, Jeff served in executive positions at Leach International, Teledyne Relays and Esterline Technologies, in Germany and the United States.
Jeff had many friends with whom he and Liliane shared an abiding love of music. A connoisseur of many genres, he was an accomplished trumpeter, performing at church, at weddings and on other occasions. He also loved to sing, whether at the annual family Christmas musicale or a karaoke bar. He loved a joyful noise.
Jeff is survived by his wife of 25 years, Liliane (nee Mroczkowski) of Long Beach, his brother Gary Gray of Arlington, Virginia, his sister Susan Gray of Warne, North Carolina, many nieces and nephews.
