An invisible thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but it will never break.

Jason Butcher was born on The Day of the Stalwart Protector, meaning a loyal, reliable, and strong guardian. He had a deep sense of responsibility in all aspects of his life - to his family, to his work, and in his daily life. Jason was fiercely protective, and wanted most to leave a meaningful impact on his children as well as in his business achievements.

On July 7, 2022, Jason departed much too soon from this material world after a long fight against cancer. His sheer will of strength and determination offered many additional years with his loved ones, a gift and blessing for us all. He was particularly focused on leaving his legacy with his children Sapphire, Weston, and Zeraphine. They are all so fortunate to have Jason as their father. He taught them many lessons and modeled values that will follow them the rest of their lives.

While his battle against cancer posed many challenges throughout the years, Jason transformed his diagnosis into what would become his most proud achievement. He built a metabolic cancer therapy business and worked alongside his wife, Tabea. They shared a common goal of helping many others, like him, live longer and better lives. This work provided Jason purpose and meaning, and he worked tirelessly and diligently for their patients and colleagues.

Jason was born on May 26, 1970 in Columbus, Ohio to his devoted parents Dwight and Sharon Butcher. He was a lifelong Ohio State fan, and graduated from Ohio State University in 1993. He even named his golden retriever Buckeye! One of his favorite past-times growing up was watching Ohio State football games with his father, and later continued that tradition with his son.

A memorial service will take place Thursday, July 14th at 2:00 pm at Luyben Dilday Mortuary for family and friends to honor and celebrate the life of Jason Butcher. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Jason that will be used to establish a scholarship fund for our patients who seek treatment but are unable to afford the cost. Our patients were always the first priority for Jason, so it is only fitting that we continue the legacy he created.

The things you do for yourself are gone when you are gone, but the things you do for others remain as your legacy. -Kalu
