Jannette Sawyer Marabut

Jannette Sawyer Marabut, lovingly known as “Mama J,” 52, of Anaheim, California, passed away peacefully at home with her loved ones on December 4, 2025, after a courageous battle with Stage 4 breast cancer. Born on January 16, 1973, in Bukidnon, Philippines, Jannette’s radiant spirit and infectious laugh touched everyone blessed to know her. Her life was marked by joy, humor, and unwavering positivity. Whether sharing a lighthearted joke or offering words of comfort, Mama J had an extraordinary ability to lift others’ spirits. She will be remembered not only for her laughter, but for the compassion, strength, and warmth she carried into every room.

Mama J’s greatest pride was her family. She devoted her life to nurturing those she loved, always placing others’ needs before her own. Her home was a place of comfort filled with the sound of easy conversation and the feeling of unconditional love. She was a guiding light to her children, a loyal sister, a loving daughter, and a trusted friend whose wisdom and gentle presence will be deeply missed.

Her courage throughout her illness inspired everyone around her. Even in the most challenging moments, she continued to show incredible grace, faith, and humor which was a testament to her resilient spirit. She taught those around her what it means to live with gratitude, to love without hesitation, and to face hardship with hope.

Jannette is survived by her beloved family, who will forever hold her memory in their hearts. Her legacy lives on in the kindness she modeled, the joy she spread, and the love she so freely gave.

A celebration of her life will be held to honor the remarkable woman she was as a mother, a friend, a source of comfort, and a beacon of joy. Though she is no longer physically with us, her light will continue to shine through the people she touched and the memories she leaves behind.
