James Theodore Rozolis

James Theodore Rozolis, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away in Los Alamitos on November 24, 2025. Born in Los Angeles on October 2, 1935, Greek was his first language until he started kindergarten. Jim attended public schools in Los Angeles throughout his life, with the pinnacle of his education receiving four degrees from UCLA, including his doctorate.

All through his life, Jim was an extremely hard worker. He assisted his Uncle John running a major produce route in Beverly Hills beginning at the age of 16, as well as managing his uncles’ apartment complexes, all while he was a young student. Ultimately, Jim found his calling as a teacher and professor for 44 years. He began his teaching career in junior high and high school, and finally El Camino College and California State University Long Beach for 38 years. Jim received numerous teaching awards throughout his career, including the Distinguished Faculty Award at El Camino College where he was the local president of CTA. He was the key note speaker at multiple nursing school graduations, and he was well respected and loved by all of his students. His guidance and mentorship made a huge impact in many students’ lives.

Jim was also very active in his local community, schools, and church. He volunteered at school carnivals, health screenings, church functions, and specifically provided his photography expertise to countless community events. In addition, Jim gifted his wedding photography to many friends and students throughout the years.

Above all, Jim was a lover of his family, nature, and Disneyland. The sanctuary of happiness which Disneyland provided was shared with his entire family. His spirit was pure, as he never said an unkind word about anyone, and he was always exceptionally generous, kind, and loving to all who knew him. His wife, Pam, was his true soulmate, and he was the best father to his children Theodore, Pamela, and Jennifer, as well as his sons-in-law John and Tom. Finally, his grandchildren Julia, James, Sophia, and Daniel were the lights of his life. He was also a loving brother to his sisters Mary Lou and Tina, and his brother-in-law Bill.

Jim made a positive difference in all of the lives he touched, especially his entire family. Kindness, compassion, faith, and love were the tenets he lived by. He always said, “The greatest lesson we will ever learn, is to love and be loved in return.” Jim will always have a handprint on all of our hearts.
