James Albert Gallagher passed away Monday, February 6, 2017 of natural causes.

Born To James and Blanche Gallagher on March 4, 1918, in South Dakota, Jim spent his early years living on a farm. In his late teens, Jim struck out with his brothers Frank and Leo to establish roots on the west coast, finally settling in California. He subsequently met and married Agnes Sinz, raising five children together.

Jim worked for several decades in the auto industry for Chrysler Corp., and later for American Bridge after the auto maker closed its Pico Rivera plant. He was a tireless worker in his efforts to provide for his family.

Jim was an active church member at Our Lady of the Rosary Parish in Paramount, even serving a term as Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his brother Leo and all five of his children; Sharon, Karen, Dan, Mary and Janet, as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
