James Gailey Forrest was born 01/03/1923 in Tennessee.

He enlisted to go fight the WW ll war right of high school.

His mother had to sign for them to allow him into the Army Air Corp.

While serving United States of America. He was a tail gunner on a Liberator bomber in England.

He was awarded the Air Medal with four oak leaf clusters. Also, the distinguished Flying Cross. Totaled over 7 metals and ribbons. He completed 30 missions.

He shared many stories of his army air corp accomplishments. He was a true hero.

He Married Mary Joyce had 4 children in Tennessee, James Forrest Jr ,George Forrest, Fred Forrest and Sara Forrest Lucas.

They Lived in Nashville and then decided to pack up the car and move to California in 1958. Four years later had son Luke Forrest born in La Mirada California. Where they remained for years.

He had electronic back ground /worked as an radio and TV repair man for a while. When he was hired in Aerospace which is now Boeing. During those ten years there, he worked on projects for Apollo space craft missions.

After 23 yrs of marriage, divorced Mary Joyce and remarried Lil who he enjoyed to travel with. He had been on may cruises to Mexico/Hawaii/Spain/Portugal and others but always says, the 2 weeks on the Alaska cruise was his favorite.

He liked to play darts and pool. He was a member of the VFW and Elks Loge.

He was a classic like a Cadillac. Which was his car of choice. He owned 6 of them.

His enjoyed drinking clamato regularly. But his vice or maybe the fountain of youth was Ice cream. He ate it every day. If he skipped it you would expect he was not well or something was wrong.

He was blessed with 7 grandchildren -Kimberly Bogard, Nanci Forrest, Staci Dady, James Lucas, Julie Lucas Sukraw, Justin Forrest and Daniel Forrest.

He has 9 great grand children. Desarie Bogard, Becca Bogard, Megan Bogard-Dakota Dady, Shawn Dady, Lauren Forrest, Sara Forrest, Jaxon Forrest and Eliah Sukraw.

He was a loving, generous and caring father. Very Proud of his family.

He lived in Lakewood California for over 40 yrs where he passed to be with the Lord. He will be greatly missed and loved for ever.

Our hero has now gone to heaven.

He is in our thoughts and Forever in our hearts!
