James H. Edwards Profile Photo

James H Edwards was born in Bethlehem, Georgia on December 11, 1936. He was the son of D.R. Edwards and Lucille Thomas.  Jim was a loving husband, wonderful father, exceptional grandfather, and irreplaceable friend and cherished his family dearly.  He was a hardworking man who loved to fish, cook, spend time with family, and showed a genuine love and kindness to those around him.  He was a stage 4 throat cancer survivor of 8 years and revealed how God’s mercy and a positive attitude helps to make you a stronger individual.  Jim’s sense of humor always made people laugh and he enjoyed being the life of the party.  Music and dancing was a regular part of his life and often came into a room singing. He could brighten any room as he walked in with his charm, contagious smile, and genuine love for life.  His joy of life was easily seen and his casual way of interacting with people made it easy to love him.  He had a way of making people feel special by doing the small things that others may overlook.  He had many skills and enjoyed mentoring his grandchildren and anyone who had a willingness to learn.  He leaves behind his wife of nearly 43 years, Mary Ann Edwards. His children Andrea Dishman, James, Michael, Tony, Dewayne, Tranetta, Patrick, and Adriana.  His aunt Queenie who was like a sister to him, his cousins, Linda, Benetta, & Gretta, who where as close as sisters.  His brothers Doug & Andre, many grandchildren, along with many family members and friends who’s lives he touched.  We are so thankful for all those who have generously offered support through this challenging time. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
