James Robert Adam

James “Jim” Robert Adam son of Robert Joseph Adam and Patricia Ann Johnson Adam was born on June 3, 1964 in Burbank, Ca. He attended Horace Mann Elementary School, Jefferson Jr. High, and Wilson High School all in Long Beach, Ca. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Belmont Shore in Long Beach, Ca.

He was married to Cirila “Cherry” Ballina Chavez Adam on January 22, 1998. The marriage was blessed with three wonderful children, Amber Arlene Adam (previous marriage), Alicia Cassandra Adam, and Andrew James Adam. His favorite dog Pluto James Adam also mourns his passing.

Upon his graduation from high school in 1982, Jim enlisted in the Army and served for 4 years at  Hunter Army Airfield in Georgia and in Germany. After his completion of service he got a job as a plumber for the George Stephan Company and later worked for Cal Trans until his recent death.

Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid cyclist and hiker. He enjoyed the desert and loved spending time at the family vacation home in Palm Desert, Ca. He and Cherry have been able to take several vacations to visit family and friends in the Philippines, where he met and married Cherry. On most weekends Jim enjoyed taking Pluto James to the dog beach in Huntington Beach, Ca. He enjoyed camping and road trips with the family. He loved hiking in Death Valley and throughout California.

He had a photographic memory for geographical locations and even though he traveled with a GPS and before that a Thomas Guide, he never needed to use either. He knew all the best places to eat especially Mexican restaurants and could always recommend the best places to go.

He is survived by his wife Cherry, his two daughters Amber and Alicia, and his son Andrew. His parents Bob and Pat Adam, and his sisters Jessica Youngs (Roger Hiltpold), Julie Myers (Don Myers). His numerous nephews and nieces and brothers and sister in laws in the Philippines.
