Jack Swain

Jack Swain was born on June 6, 1934 to Leta and Richard Swain in Helena, Montana. He died on March 18, 2022 in Long Beach, California. He was preceded by his brother Richard (Rick) Swain.

After graduating from high school, Jack was drafted by the army in 1952, where he served as a paratrooper. He married Helen Bersin in 1958 and was a father of two children, Julie and James Swain. He went on to become a union plumber and graduated from Pierce College. He was a member of the knights of Columbus. Later on he started his own Mechanical Contractors Company. In addition to becoming a business owner he was a pilot with a private license and a commercial rating. In addition he loved fishing, traveling the world, reading and history.

Jack was survived by his wife Helen Swain, his two children, Julie McDougall and her husband Jeff and James Swain and Shannon Bryan. He had seven grandchildren, Matthew McDougall, Andrew McDougall and his wife Katie, Michael McDougall and his wife Doris, Thomas McDougall and his wife Gabby, Jennifer Whipple and her husband Paul, Amy McDougall, and Christopher Swain. He was also survived by 10 great grandchildren.

The viewing will be held at Luyben Dilday Mortuary, 5161 Arbor Road, Long Beach, CA  on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 pm.

The funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Refuge, 5195 Stearns Street, Long Beach, CA  on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 10:30 am.

The burial will be held at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 9:30 am.
