Jack William Mcconnell
February 6, 1942 — September 27, 2016
Jack William McConnell, age 74, of Lomita, CA succumbed to respiratory complications on 9/27/16 after a prolonged recovery following serious medical complications in Jan of 2014.
He was born 2/6/42 in Glendale, CA to Max and Dorothy (Lowry) McConnell.
Jack is survived by son Robert McConnell, daughter Laura (Chris) Fudge, daughter Deborah Albarran, son David (Ivette) McConnell, daughter Karyn (Max) Peña, daughter Amy (Michael) Heiman, and son Jared (Andrea) McConnell, his brother Charles (Kim) McConnell and sister Linda Edwards, and 24 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchild (one on the way).
Jack retired from 25+ years of engineering with Raytheon/Hughes. He then worked for SDRC for 3+ years as a mechanical engineering CAD design instructor. He also began his own MAC computer repair business "Dr. MAC Enterprises" part-time to keep himself busy and doing what he loved. Jack loved to meet new people and make new friends. He was known for his "sense of humor" and "teasing and playful" personality. He frequented several local restaurants, where he considered the staff/owners/managers his friends and family.
A viewing will be held on Oct. 9, from 2-4pm, followed immediately by a small service.
