Hugh James Miles Hugh James Miles, age 100, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2016 in Los Angeles due to natural causes. Born in San Francisco to James B. Miles and Theresa (Grant) Miles he is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Eileen Marie (nee Connolly) and is survived by their 12 children, Eileen, Theresa, Marilyn (Fahey), Kathleen, Carol (White), Rosemary, Michael, Margaret, Steven, Daniel, Hugh, and James. After graduating from the University of San Francisco with a BS in Chemistry, Hugh moved his young family to Long Beach, CA in 1946. He built and operated his own business for 50 years. Hugh and Eileen took great pride in their 12 children, 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Monica Catholic Church in Santa Monica, Thursday, September 1st at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the University of San Francisco/Office of Development, P.O. Box 45363, San Francisco, CA 94145 are appreciated.
