Hilda Ida Maggi

Hilda Maggi (born Hilda Ida Willing) went in peace to be with the Lord and family before her on September 19, 2022.  She was 99.

Hilda was born on June 14, 1923, and raised in Konstanz, Germany --- on the Swiss border.  Her mother (Ida) was from Switzerland.  Her father (Max) was from Germany.  Hilda had 3 brothers (Rudolf, Hans, and Kurt) and a sister (Ilse).

Hilda met Marcellino Maggi who moved from Verona, Italy to Kreuzlingen, Switzerland after World War II.  They married on April 11, 1953.  In 1954 they moved to Montreal, Canada, had 2 sons, then moved to California on July 4 ^th , 1964.

The family lived in Inglewood, East Los Angeles, Pico Rivera, and Whittier, California.  Hilda and Marcello moved to Liedolo, Italy after they retired in the mid 1980’s.  They spent summers in Italy and winters in California.  They eventually settled full time in Long Beach, California.

Hilda was a beautiful, sweet, and gentle woman.  She had a heart of gold who loved her family dearly and prayed for everyone she met.  Hilda is survived by her two sons (Luigi and Daniel), a daughter-in-law (Elizabeth), two grandchildren (Christina and Michael), and two great grandchildren (Misha and Vivian).

Heaven has another angel.  For sure she is praying for us now.
