Born April 16,1940 passed away November 16, 2023, in Covina California at the age of 83.

He was preceded in death by his wife Delia Irene Cortez of 49 ½ years of marriage. Henry is survived by his children Dawn, Denise, Ann, & Henry Jr. and was the grandfather to 12 (James, Joseph, Paul, Kevin, Steven, Brittney, Amber, Brandon, Selena, Jonathan, Cienna, and Roman) grandchildren along with being a great grandfather to 12. He is also survived by his remaining siblings Maria, Julian, and Richard.

Henry was born in Jerome Arizona to Tiburcio and Aurora Cortez and was the 4th eldest of 11 children. He was raised in Arizona up until the age of about 12 before moving with his family and relocating to Los Angeles California. He attended and graduated from Rosevelt High School in East Los Angeles and was already working in the grocery industry. Henry worked his entire career in the grocery industry starting off as a box boy and working his way up to Produce Manager, and then eventually retiring to spend more time with his wife.

Henry was a very friendly, outgoing, and easy person to approach at any time. He loved to be around people, especially his family and enjoyed all of those good times. Whether it was sports related or not, Henry was a very talkative man and would converse about anything with anyone who wanted to have a conversation. He was also a very adamant sports fan and loved his sports teams. He loved his Lakers, his Raiders, his USC Trojans, and he was a die-hard Dodger fan. So much, that one of his last wishes was to leave this life in his Dodger attire, as he is laid to rest. Henry will continue to bleed Dodger blue and will continue to Fight On, even as he enters the gates of heaven. He will be missed but never forgotten.
