Henrietta was born on July 15, 1926, in Los Angeles, CA, and passed away peacefully at home on August 22, 2019, at the age of 93.
Henrietta married Pascual “Curly” Lambaren in Yuma, AZ. They had three daughters: Marina (John) Tuckerman, Laura (Phil) Neff and Carri Kenyon. She was blessed with 9 grandchildren: Marisa McHugh, John Tuckerman Jr., Andrew Kenyon, Mari Kenyon, Briana Neff, Caitlyn Neff and Jeremy Neff; Ledger and Maddox Tuckerman; one very special great-granddaughter Madison Najm; Her special niece and god-daughter, Nancy (Mike) Brandt; And her nephew Sal Gonzalez.
At a very young age our mother started working in her parents’ restaurants and continued as a waitress in many local restaurants. Many will remember her at the Mexico City restaurant for many years. She also worked at El Castillo Real and Red Onion.
She then went on to work at Artesia City Hall in numerous positions until 1991. She also worked in the Lakewood Employment Development Department, as an Ed Lewis special educator, a front office assistant to two secretaries and as an interpreter for staff and parents. At the Hawaiian Gardens City Hall she worked as an interpreter and as assistant to the city clerk.
Henrietta was always active and involved in many organizations. She was part of Nutrilife-Amway from 1993-2013, and worked in guest relations, as a tour assistant and in the access business group well into her 80’s.
Her greatest enjoyment was starting H & H taco night at the American Legion #496. She and Howard ran it for many years and she continued it after her companion Howard became ill. She was also Chaplain from 2004-2016.
Henrietta was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Angie and Josie, brothers Johnny and Felix, ex-husband Pascual and her first grandchild Camela Tuckerman.
She is survived by her brother Joseph (Margaret) Chanes.
We also wish to thank Allen Bruno for his devotion to our mother. She lived a full life and left surrounded by family that loved her very much.
We’ll miss you, Mom.
