Helen Ann Maguire

Helen Maguire, a long time resident of Lakewood, passed away Thursday May 19, 2016. She was born August 18, 1922 in Amboy, Illinois.  Helen moved to Long Beach where she met and married Laurence (Mac) Maguire in 1953 at St. Mathews Catholic Church in Long Beach.  They moved to Lakewood  where she resided the remainder of her life.  Mac & Helen were married for 40 years until his death in 1994.
Helen was a secretary at the Independent Press Telegram and later a bookkeeper for Koopman’s Furniture Store in Bellflower. She is survived by her son Mike Maguire (Kelly), daughters Mary Zoller (Les), Bridget Maguire, Erin Maguire, Jane Premo (Bruce) , granddaughters Stephanie and Molly Premo, sisters Liz Kier (Mort) and Fran Welty, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Long Beach on Friday May 27,2016 at 1:00pm.
