Harry M. Lindsey Passed away on June 8, 2015 with his daughter, Janice, by his side. Harry was born in Fresno, CA to Harry and Alice Lindsey in 1921. The family slowly moved south locating in Long Beach in 1934. Harry graduated from Poly High School and went to work for the Long Beach Press Telegram until he enlisted in the Navy in 1942. Harry was a First Class Sheet Metal Man. His third assignment was North Island in San Diego where he met and married Joellen Day. He was transferred to a base in Hawaii and discharged in 1945. Harry and Joellen raised three children in Bixby Knolls and later College Park. As a sheet metal foreman he worked ijn several shops and at the Naval Base on Terminal Island. He also taught Apprenticeship Classes at Long Beach City College. Joellen passed away and later he met and married Arlene. They lived in Los Alamitos and and Laguna Niguel where Arlene passed away this year. Harry was a wonderful photographer with many pictures of family and travels. He is survived by his children Janice and her son, Eric of Garden Grove; Bill and his wife Jimmy of Highlandville, Mo; and Tom and Cathy and sons Andy and Greg of Tahoma, CA. Also his brother Mel and wife, Joan, of Long Beach. Harry will be buried at the Riverside National Cemetery. The service will be at 9:15 am on Wednesday, June 23, 2015.
